Day #12 – Work Gets In The Way Of Workouts

So now that some of the stress is gone from that little plateau I hit, I should be able to crank out some more solid workouts without getting lost in my own head. I would have done that this morning, I was actually pretty pumped after hitting an all time new low for my weight, buuuuuuuuuuut…. of course that thing we call “life” kicked in with a little crisis at work that cut my morning workout short. I was only able to get in 30 minutes this time, but did turn out 1.57 miles and 190 calories. Not so bad for half the normal workout!

After a CRAZY day at work, I ran home and knocked out my evening workout. Another shorter one since I have plans this evening. 45 minutes, 2.45 miles and burned 304 calories. This nice part is that this is on pace with my 400+ calorie per hour workouts. Hopefully I can knock out one if not 2 of those tomorrow.

P.S. I thought I was kidding in my tweet about “running out my stress” but holy shit, it actually kinda works! 😉

  1. Running out your stress totally works! When your body prepares itself to deal with stressful situations, the primal response is “fight or flight”. It’s responding to an attack, the stress, and you can’t tell the difference, physically. So that’s why it makes so much sense mentally and physically to do something strenuous to work out the stress.

    Pretty cool huh?
